Short Bio


Ioana Dimitriu graduated from the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures in Bucharest, Romania, where she was granted admission without sitting for the Entrance Examination, for having obtained the First Prize in the National Olympiad of Spanish Language and Literature in two consecutive years. Subsequently, she completed a Master’s degree in Linguistics at the University of Ottawa, and in the year 2010 she defended her Doctoral Dissertation in Spanish. Her Thesis in Compared Literature focused on the literary labyrinth in the fantastic prose written by the Argentinean author Jorge Luis Borges, and by the Romanian historian of religions and writer Mircea Eliade. She currently works as a Spanish Lecturer at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
